Emergency Response

Floods, Sewage and Crocodiles

Heavy rainfall has caused severe flooding in several cities across The Gambia. As the government scrambles to devise a resettling scheme, help may take months or even years before it is ready.

Many communities are left stranded and are relying on your support for survival.

The Gambia is a small strip of low-lying land in west Africa along both banks of the river from which it takes its name. As one of the world’s poorest and least-developed countries, families that are already suffering from a major humanitarian crisis are now dealing with the effects of extreme flooding.

For $50, you can provide sleeping mats to a displaced or homeless family in need. Or, for $100, you can provide a healthy food basket that will sustain a family for one month.
