Zakat Al-Mal
“My mercy encompasses all things, and so I shall decree it for those who are reverent, give the Zakat and those who believe in Our revelations”. (Quran 7:156)
According to the Qur’an (9:60), there are 8 categories of people eligible to receive Zakat: the poor, the needy, those employed to collect and distribute Zakat, those whose hearts must be reconciled, slaves and those held in captivity, those in debt, those for the cause of Allah, and travelers.
